1. Pineapple Express (2008)

Stoner Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) love of an unusual strain of marijuana may prove dangerous when he drops his roach in a panic after observing a murder. After learning that the fancy weed can be traced back to them, Dale and his dealer (James Franco) go on the run as the feared drug lord (Gary Cole) and crooked cop (Rosie Perez) chase after them.

2. Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle (2004)

Nerdy accountant Harold (John Cho) and his irrepressible friend, Kumar (Kal Penn), get stoned watching television and find themselves enchanted by a commercial for White Castle. Convinced there must be one
nearby, the two set out on a late-night journey that takes them far into New Jersey.
Somehow, the boys manage to escape rednecks, cops and even a car-stealing Neil Patrick Harris before getting anywhere near their beloved sliders.

3. Cheech and Chong’s Up in Smoke (1978)

A jobless stoner and amateur drummer, Anthony Stoner (Tommy Chong) leaves his strict parents and hits the road, eventually meeting Pedro de Pacas (Cheech Marin). While the cannabis-loving duo is arrested for
possession of marijuana, Anthony and Pedro get released on a technicality, allowing them
to continue their many misadventures and ultimately compete in a rock band contest,
where they perform the raucous tune “Earache My Eye”.

4. Grandma’s Boy (2006)

When he and his roommate can’t afford the rent, video game creator Alex (Allen Covert) finds himself homeless and moves in with Lilly (Doris Roberts), his eccentric grandmother. Lilly and her senior friends like to hang out in front
of the television all day, but their constant presence puts a damper on Alex’s social life and pot smoking. Alex wants to date his hot co-worker Samantha (Linda Cardellini), but his preoccupation with a rivalry with another game designer puts his would-be relationship at stake.

5. Reefer Madness (1936)

High-school principal Dr. Alfred Carroll (Josef Forte) communicates to an audience of parents that marijuana can have devastating effects on teens. In his story, a drug supplier entices several restless teens, including sister and brother Mary (Dorothy Short) and Jimmy Lane (Warren McCollum) and Mary’s boyfriend, Bill (Kenneth Craig), into frequenting a “reefer” house. Gradually, Bill and Jimmy are drawn into smoking dope, which affects their family lives and leads to a terrible crime. You might find the vintage-aspect of this film to be a dynamic layer as you watch it.

6. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)

When Jay and Silent Bob learn that a “Bluntman and Chronic” movie is being made featuring their comic book counterparts, they drool at the thought of fat movie checks rolling in. But when they discover that zero

Jeff Bridges plays Jeff Lebowski who insists on being called “the Dude” a mellow, easygoing stoner who happens to have the same name as a millionaire whose wife owes a lot of dangerous people a whole bunch of money —
resulting in the Dude having his rug soiled and ultimately spiraling into the Los Angeles underworld.

9. Half-Baked (1998)

When a member of their crew gets incarcerated for accidentally killing a New York City police horse by feeding it junk food, three slackin’ stoners are forced to get off their asses and raise money for bail by selling cannabis stolen from a pharmaceutical lab. It’s a risky plan but these are stand-up guys would do anything to help out a friend in need.

10. How High (2001)

Multi-platinum rap superstars Redman and Method Man star as Jamal and Silas, two regular guys who smoke something magical, ace their college entrance exams and wind up at Harvard. Ivy League ways are different to them but Silas and Jamal take it in a stride — until their supply of magical weed runs dry. That’s when they have to start living by their wits and rely on their sober brains to make the grade.
